benefits of membership

  • attend writer's circle, the gym, and pdc sponsored workshops and lectures
  • submit your work to readings in restaurants and writer's table.
  • get a member profile: information about you and your work will be featured on the pdc about us page, and will be accessible in our searchable database
  • utilize the playnotes feature: now you don't have to worry about losing post it notes, keeping stacks of notebooks, or worrying about other writers stealing your ideas. playnotes allows you to make notes on ideas you have for your plays that are accessible, to you and only you, from any computer with internet access anywhere in the world.
  • allow visitors to download 10-page samples of your plays or longer excerpts. you can even make your full script available for download and use a tracking tool to see who-where is reading your play.
  • promote your events through pdc's event calendar and through pdc's email club

  • cost of membership

    the yearly fee for regular pdc membership is $50.00.

    the yearly fee for at-large pdc membership is $25.00. this level of membership is for non-residents of the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area who are unlikely to be able to take full advantage of many of pdc's programs--but still want to support pdc and be able to promote themselves and their work through a website profile. note that even if you don't live in or near Philadelphia you can still become a regular member of pdc.

    the yearly fee for student pdc membership is $25.00. a photocopy of a current and valid post-secondary school student id should be included with your membership payment.

    we at pdc believe strongly that every playwright should have access to the materials that broaden their horizons and improve their craft. if you are under extreme economic hardship special arrangements can be made. to learn more about this option, please contact pdc director Wally Zialcita by clicking here.

  2. send your membership fee to pdc- either online through paypal or via old fashioned mail;
  3. once we've received your payment you sign in using the member login found here.- there you can edit your member profile and get access to other member benefits;
